Giant Granny Square *update*

It's been a while since I last posted pictures of my Giant Granny Square.
Well, here it is! Almost ready. Last row added! Only *some* ends to sew in.
As I said before, it's a rather unusual colour palette for me. But I do like it as these colours seem to represent the Quintessential Granny Square. ;-) Oh yeah!

ByHaafner, crochet, giant granny square, blanket

I used a 6 mm hook and a huge variety of yarns. (Variety in brands, thickness, structure, colours, sheen.)

What a pleasure it is, this pattern, just keep going - adding row after row...
The plan was to make a 2 x 2 meters square. But when arriving there, I thought: 'Why stop here?' ;-) So now it measures 2.5 x 2.5 meters. Love that size, truly giant!
Do you currently have any granny squares on you hooks?

Thanks for paying a visit. It's lovely to have you here.
Enjoy the rest of your weekend!

  2. Ohhhh, that is one big square of gorgeousness! It's fantastic! And so huge! And it matches your shoes, too :o) I LOVE the colours. Actually, I wasn't working on anything granny related, but this may have inspired me to start one. Right now.

  3. Your jolly giant granny square blanket is gorgeous. Looks great with your ruby slippers, too.

I've been neglecting my crocheting as I continue to knit, knit, knit.

  7. it's lovely, I wonder did you turn the blanket over each round and go in the other direction, or keep going the same way?! I would like to make a giant granny too and was wondering how to keep it square. It would be hard to block so big I think! enjoy curling up with this blanket, Heather x

    1. Thanks for your question Heather! I actually worked in the same direction for every row. I didn't think of the alternative of alternating the direction. But somehow I was lucky and it worked out well + square, so I didn't have to block it. (Phew!)

  13. Olá amiga, passando para lhe deixar um carinho, e já estou te seguindo, beijokas

Amigo é coisa para se guardar Debaixo de sete chaves
    Dentro do coração
    amigo, eu volto
    A te encontrar
Qualquer dia, amigo, a gente vai se encontrar.

  16. Aw love it... Bet you can't wait until those winter/rainy days to snuggle on the couch with it.
I have one similar one in progress, no where near as big but whenever I have some left over yarn I add a couple of rows. I'm into stripes at moment can't get enough of making stripy things.

... Love your skirt btw xx
