Just Throwing in Some Happy Colours

Still very busy around here; not much time to blog. However, I'm bursting with new crochet ideas and blog inspiration. Can't wait to invest more time in both.

About a throw that's not finished yet...

Yay! After working on it for over a year (with intervals!)
I'm about to finish my third throw -
15x19 squares finished and joined, completed with a lacy border.
I was hoping to present it to you now, but alas...
Still working on the last ends to weave in.
So here are some smaller crochet projects instead.

Granny squares...

Obviously, the previous picture is taken in the summer,

the terrace is now covered in snow...

It's a cover for this thrifted stool.

And some pompons - because they're always fun,
and because I like the vintage wallpaper...

... I've been collecting autumn leaves.
(Those colours!)

... I've been practising a new crochet stitch.
(New to me, that is.)

... I've been making giant pompons.
(Don't know what to do with them yet.)

Super Easy DIY Garland

Okay, since this is my first DIY,
I thought I'd start with an easy one.
And trust me: this one is really easy.
And - being a blogger now - it involves washitape. *Oh, irony*

So, what you need to make this garland (or bunting? What word would you use for this?):

♦ Acrylic felt (Yes - I don't use wool felt, why? Click here, here or here. In short: It doesn't seem right to harm animals, certainly not for such a frivolous thing like a garland.)

♦ Thread

♦ Washitape

♦ Scissors, needle and pencil.

Mark the triangles on the acrylic felt and cut them,
pull the thread through the triangles, apply the tape
et voilà!

I like it because there's no sewing involved.
(Which is a craft I have to master yet -
I did buy a sewing machine, so the intention is there allright.)

The Good Life & Some Escapism Too

What a lucky coincidence: having a couple of days off,
while the weather is actually quite nice.

I just had to spend some time in our very petit urban garden...
And since I had time on my hands, I decided it could do with some
pompomifying.

So there I was, a grown up woman,
spending several hours of her life making pompons like crazy.
- Oh oh. Is that escapism or what? -

Of course there was tea to be enjoyed...

These pelargoniums are such a bright shade of pink, it's hard to get a decent picture them. Love them though.

The plaid on the bench is actually a mattress I bought in South East Asia
(without the stuffing).

One more picture of the pompon bunting doesn't do any harm, does it...?

Colour love - pansies

My little container garden is flooded with pansies.
(They're not all on the photo - just in case you're wondering 'flooded...?')
They're still blooming (since March!).
I love the colours. Hence the pompons...

It doesn't come anywhere close to the delicate colours of the real thing - but it was fun going through my yarn to pick the colours.
