Giant Granny Square *update*

It's been a while since I last posted pictures of my Giant Granny Square.
Well, here it is! Almost ready. Last row added! Only *some* ends to sew in.
As I said before, it's a rather unusual colour palette for me. But I do like it as these colours seem to represent the Quintessential Granny Square. ;-) Oh yeah!

I used a 6 mm hook and a huge variety of yarns. (Variety in brands, thickness, structure, colours, sheen.)

What a pleasure it is, this pattern, just keep going - adding row after row...
The plan was to make a 2 x 2 meters square. But when arriving there, I thought: 'Why stop here?' ;-) So now it measures 2.5 x 2.5 meters. Love that size, truly giant!

    Ohhhh, that is one big square of gorgeousness! It's fantastic! And so huge! And it matches your shoes, too :o) I LOVE the colours. Actually, I wasn't working on anything granny related, but this may have inspired me to start one. Right now.

    it's lovely, I wonder did you turn the blanket over each round and go in the other direction, or keep going the same way?! I would like to make a giant granny too and was wondering how to keep it square. It would be hard to block so big I think! enjoy curling up with this blanket, Heather x

      Thanks for your question Heather! I actually worked in the same direction for every row. I didn't think of the alternative of alternating the direction. But somehow I was lucky and it worked out well + square, so I didn't have to block it. (Phew!)

    Aw love it... Bet you can't wait until those winter/rainy days to snuggle on the couch with it.
    I have one similar one in progress, no where near as big but whenever I have some left over yarn I add a couple of rows. I'm into stripes at moment can't get enough of making stripy things.
