Which I should have used to work on a WIP.
But I started something new instead.
I just love this bobble stitch pattern.
- I often use it to crochet a potholder -
This time I decided to make a throw with this pattern.
Just one square finished though...
Do you have anything on your hook right now?

ah, know the feeling! it's a lovely square. I must try the bobble stitch, I haven't yet! Heather x
ReplyDeleteThanks! I originally found the pattern in a Japanese crochet book (it was actually the reason I bought that book!).
DeleteBallet slipper pink! Will it be a throw for you/a girl/a baby?
ReplyDeleteOh, I do like that: ballet slipper pink!
DeleteNot sure yet... Probably for myself. ;-)
So pretty! I have been wanting to give those bobbles try! Hopefully soon! I am working on a baby quilt and some doilies!! Happy week to you! xo Heather
ReplyDeleteA baby quilt, that sounds really cute... And doilies are always good to work on of course. ;-)
DeleteWhat a fun stitch! I've been wanting to try it, hopefully soon! Love how it's coming along, very pretty!! :) Happy new week to you! xo Holly
ReplyDeleteThank you Holly!
DeleteThat is a beautiful stitch, and the color is so soft and lovely. I imagine it will be a perfectly beautiful throw...
ReplyDeleteThanks for your kind comment!
DeleteAmei seus trabalhos, parabéns!
ReplyDeleteBeijos do Brasil!

ReplyDeleteThank you!

I have just been looking al over your website for this pattern, after being lead here by red Hearts Tulip Throw that you did in pastels (so much more attractive than Red Hearts Sample, I must say!), which I saw on Moogy's Community Pinterest Board.
ReplyDeleteThen I saw this bobble square, and have just fallen in love!
I have a granddaughter due at the end of August, and both the colour you have chosen, and the gorgeous texture of this 'granny' square, would make an incredible blanket for her, and one that would not be so childish that she would grow our of it.
I'm ill and disabled, so can't crochet or knit items that ens up quite heavy, and I have been searching for just the right design, and I really do think that this one is IT! I'm sure you know what I mean!
If you feel unable to share the pattern because it was from a book, would you please share the details of the book so that I might try to acquire the book, at least? That's how much I love this design!
Thanks in advance....hopefully....Diane in the UK
Wow - thank you so much, Diane, for your kind comment! I'm sorry to hear you're ill.
DeleteThe pattern is from a Japanese crochet book (although I did come across a similar one online, but I can't remember where...) If you send me your email address, I'll send you a copy of the pattern asap. By the way, it's a chart, without a written pattern, I hope that works for you? Please let me know!
Further information: I used a cheap brand of acrylic yarn, and a 5 mm hook.
Thanks again for your sweet comment...
Thank you so much! My email address is dianebfryer@gmail.com
DeleteBy the way, is there a way to subscribe to your blog by email? I can't seem to find a way, and I much prefer email subscription, because I often forget to go to chech the ereader programs, although I do have one! LOL!
I'm much more able to keep up with things via email....I'm a bit of a technophobe....I kind of planned to set up a blog of my own, and have even made a start...two years ago! And though the name is up etc.,I haven't got much further unfortunately, especially with only being able to manage fairly short periods of time working on things due to chronic fatigue issues. Yes, technophobe should be my middle name, I think! Hehe!
I've send the pattern and added an email button. ;-)
DeleteHappy crocheting!
Thanks so much for the pattern and description of the alterations you made to the original pattern...I like the puff stitches being fuller, too! And I've now subscribed to your blog with the new email button! Thank you so much for all your help! x
