Loose ends

I'm guessing
most people have some loose ends in life.
More often than not unsatisfying.

However!
crochet, loose ends, blue bowl, vegan yarn

Since I am
Some kind of a crafter
There are some loose ends
I really like.
:-)

Granny chic hanger

Inspired by Dottie Angel's Happy Hangers
I decided that my old wooden clothes hanger too
could do with a wee granny chic makeover.

So here the poor bare hanger is, unaware of what's ahead of him.
(BTW Is it weird/wrong/slightly psychic to refer to ones clothes hanger as 'he'?)

Work in progress. (Mmm, that floor really needs a new layer of paint.)

Tadah!

And he does his delicate job really well.

Thrifted #2

A couple of weeks ago, at a market,
this tin smiled at me from a pile of rubbish.
yellow tin with flowers, crochet doily, thrifted, vintage

For one euro it was mine.
The doily - barely visible against the white background -
is a thrift treasure too.

Just like these birds.
They seem to enjoy their endless twittering together.

I don't eat my shoes

Nope, I really don't eat my shoes.
Still... I only wear vegetarian shoes.

vegan shoes, vegetarian shoes, vintage fabric, green, beyond skin, red

There's a lot of animal suffering involved in the leather industry.
Unnecessary.

So I wear vintage-style shoes -
Without the cruelty.
(Well... the high heels are definitely somewhat cruel to me.)

A confession

When I started to learn crochet
I swore to myself
I would
Never
Ever
Crochet a Potholder.

vintage, potholder, handmade, pastel, organic yarn, Haafner

And there you have it...
I utterly failed to keep my promise to myself.

Ah well - I can live with that.

Turkish crochet

I purchased this Turkish crochet thread
at the weekly market in Haarlem.
turkish crochet, pink, aqua, thread, hook, Haafner

And a very fine crochet hook
(1 mm)...
I haven't tried it yet,
but I love the colours.
turkish crochet, pink, aqua, thread, Haafner, flowers

I'm guessing it would take me ages
to learn to crochet lovely flowers like these
- which I bought at a market in Tire, Turkey...

Rain keeps falling... Down, down, down....

Okay, so it's probably not the most wise or interesting thing to do
– especially for somebody new to blogging -
To do a post about the weather...

crochet cushions, garden, flowers

But really - really,
could we please get a little less rain and a little more sun in these parts of the world?
My plants are heaving a rough time. And so am I.

tea, figs, turkish teapot, garden

Last time we had some serious sunshine was weeks (feels like months) ago.
Which was when there pics were taken.
A memento during this rainy season,
that it wasn't just a dream.
